Offers temporary relief to primary caregivers
- Offer companionship and emotional support to the individuals they look after
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as eating, bathing, toileting, dressing and mobility
- Provide direct care based on the individual’s personal care plan
- Monitor health conditions, administer medications as prescribed, and report any changes in health
- Engage individuals in activities such as reading, games, crafts, or outings to promote mental and physical stimulation
- Assist with light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and shopping
- Communicate effectively with family members, primary caregivers and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of services provided
- Comply with all safety and health regulations, including proper lifting techniques and first aid procedures
